About Shilpgram
Shilpgram is a rural arts and crafts village on the western edge of Udaipur, set up by the West Zone Cultural Centre in 1989. Spread over a hillside, it has traditional houses from the states of western India, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa and Maharashtra, each built in its own style and materials.
Craftspeople work and sell here, and folk musicians and dancers perform through the day. Every December it hosts the Shilpgram Utsav, a ten-day crafts fair that draws artisans from all over India.
