About Gangaur Ghat
Gangaur Ghat is the main ghat on the eastern shore of Lake Pichola, entered through a triple-arched gateway beside Bagore Ki Haveli. It takes its name from Gangaur, the spring festival of the goddess Gauri, when women in their finest clothes carry her image here in procession.
The rest of the year it's a place of everyday life: people bathe, wash clothes and feed the pigeons, and in the evening families and visitors gather to watch the light change over the lake.
