About Lalgarh Palace
Lalgarh Palace was built between 1902 and 1926 for Maharaja Ganga Singh to a design by the British architect Samuel Swinton Jacob. It's built of red Thar sandstone and mixes Rajput, Mughal and European styles, with finely carved lattice screens and arcades around its courtyards.
Today it's shared between the royal family's residence, heritage hotels and the Sri Sadul Museum, which displays the family's photographs, hunting trophies and mementoes of Ganga Singh's long reign.
