About Laxmi Niwas Palace
Laxmi Niwas Palace is a wing of the Lalgarh Palace complex, designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob for Maharaja Ganga Singh around the turn of the twentieth century. Its red sandstone is carved with lattice screens and floral panels in a blend of Rajput, Mughal and European styles.
It's now a heritage hotel, and its painted and gilded halls are best seen by staying or dining there.
