About Scindia Ghat
Scindia Ghat takes its name from the Scindia dynasty of Gwalior, whose queen Baiza Bai rebuilt it in the 1830s; the weight of the new stonework is said to have sunk into the riverbank. Beside it stands the Ratneshwar Mahadev temple, which leans at a steep angle and spends much of the year partly underwater.
The ghat is associated with Agni, the god of fire, who is believed to have been born here, and it's a quieter place to watch the river than the busy ghats to the south.
