About Panchganga Ghat
Panchganga Ghat takes its name from the belief that five rivers meet here: the Ganga and four that flow unseen, the Yamuna, Saraswati, Kirana and Dhutapapa. It's one of the five most sacred ghats on the Varanasi pilgrimage circuit.
Above it stands the Alamgir Mosque, built under Aurangzeb on the site of the Bindu Madhav temple. During the month of Kartik, in October and November, lamps are hung on tall bamboo poles along the ghat.
