About Gadisar Lake
Maharawal Gadsi Singh created Gadisar Lake in the 14th century as Jaisalmer's reservoir, and for centuries it was the town's main source of water.
Small temples, ghats and chhatris line its banks, and pavilions stand out in the water. You enter through Tilon ki Pol, an ornate gateway said to have been built by a courtesan named Tilon; when the ruler objected, she had a Krishna temple added on top so it couldn't be pulled down.
