Desert Culture Centre & Museum
A charming collection of local objects, costumes, instruments and traditions that helps bring Jaisalmer's desert culture to life.
About Desert Culture Centre & Museum
The Desert Culture Centre and Museum, near Gadisar Lake, was set up by the local historian N. K. Sharma to gather the everyday objects of life in the Thar: musical instruments, textiles, fossils, coins, utensils and puppets.
Its main draw is the evening puppet show, a short performance of traditional Rajasthani kathputli with live music, which makes an easy add-on after sunset at the lake.
