About Ram Bagh
Ram Bagh is thought to be the oldest Mughal garden in India, laid out by the first Mughal emperor, Babur, in 1528 on the east bank of the Yamuna. He called it Aram Bagh, the 'garden of rest', and tradition holds that his body lay here after his death in 1530 before being taken to Kabul for burial.
It follows the Persian char bagh plan of raised walkways and water channels dividing the garden into quarters, terraced down to pavilions overlooking the river. Nur Jahan later restored it. It's quiet and little visited, on the same bank as Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb and Chini Ka Rauza.
