About Jaswant Thada
Jaswant Thada was built in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar Singh in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and became the cremation ground of Jodhpur's rulers. The main cenotaph is carved from sheets of Makrana marble so thin that they glow when the sun is on them.
Its terraced garden, small lake and carved pavilions look straight across to Mehrangarh, and portraits of the Rathore rulers hang inside the main memorial.
