About Nizamuddin Dargah

The dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, the Chishti Sufi saint who died in 1325, is one of the most visited shrines in Delhi. His tomb lies at the heart of the lanes of Nizamuddin Basti, with the graves of his disciple, the poet Amir Khusrau, and of the Mughal princess Jahanara close by.

Qawwali is sung in the courtyard most evenings after the sunset prayer, with the largest gathering on Thursdays, a tradition that goes back to Khusrau himself. Visitors of every faith are welcome.
