About Lodhurva Jain Temple
Lodhurva, about 15 kilometres north-west of Jaisalmer, was the capital of the Bhati Rajputs before Rawal Jaisal founded Jaisalmer in 1156. Little of the old city survives except its Jain temple, dedicated to Parshvanath, the 23rd Tirthankara.
The temple has been rebuilt more than once on the old site. It's known for its finely carved entrance arch and for a kalpavriksha, a wish-fulfilling tree, in its courtyard, and it's a peaceful stop away from the crowds in the fort.
