Light & Sound Show

The light-and-sound show is held after dark inside the Western Group enclosure. The temples are lit one by one while a narration tells the story of the Chandela kings, how the temples were built and how they were rediscovered in the 19th century.

There are two shows each evening, in English and Hindi, and the times move between summer and winter. The show pauses for about a week each February during the Khajuraho Dance Festival, when classical dancers perform against the temples instead.
